I love it. The sensei's are awesome. It is family oriented. What they teach is awesome. The sensei's are willing to help you one on one; especially when you take private lessons. I love learning self-defense there. They teach you how to survive better on the street.

Huge school! Not your typical hole in the wall martial arts school. Very clean, and they have great instructors with high standards.

We have been at Fighting Brothers Karate for almost three years. It started with my 9 year old son (now 12). We wanted him to find something to channel his energy since he didn't like sports. Since then, six of the seven of us started as well. We are waiting until the youngest turns three so she can start too. It has been a fantastic thing to do as a family and has brought us closer together. We love it. The staff is fantastic and we feel we are definitely getting our money's worth.

I love this place! They have done everything they can to work with my "difficult" ADHD child including giving him private lessons. Tabor is an awesome sensei and really goes out of his way to work with my son one on one and help him understand. They are all very patient. Thanks Fighting Brothers for being awesome.

I got my son started in Karate because he had been bullied so badly in school that I had begun home schooling him. I wanted him to know how to defend himself and build up his self confidence and get some exercise. Fighting Brothers has meet all my expectations. The atmosphere at FBK was so awesome that I decided to start taking classes as well. The instructors are always positive and are awesome about giving the students positive feedback. They push you physically as well, so I feel that I always get a good workout!

Lesson of the Month: Self-Control

Self-control is exactly what it sounds like! It means we stay in control of our actions and our words, even when it seems hard to do. Self-control shows maturity and is also a way of showing respect for those around us. This month at Championship Martial Arts, we will be teaching our students how Self-Control helps us to make good choices!!

In martial arts, self-control is demonstrated in everything we do. In sparring, we must remain in control so as not to injure our opponents or ourselves. As we work to develop great kicking technique, we have to have control over the speed, power, and aim of the kick. Without this control, we again run the risk of injuring ourselves or others. Great self-control is developed as we work on forms, or katas, and perfect techniques within them. A true martial artist is always in control of every aspect of their body, both physically and mentally.

Self-control at home is reflected in decisions we make everyday. Doing homework because we know it needs to be done instead of playing a video game shows that we are responsible for our actions. Going to bed at a reasonable time allows us to feel rested and have the energy we need to make it through the next day. In short, doing what we know needs to be done because it needs to be done, not because we are being told, is a great way to demonstrate self-control.

As we work on life lessons both on and off the mat, we become better versions of ourselves.
